I have been a Personal Trainer since 2008 and have had the pleasure of training men and women for marathons, adults and children with disabilities, those that are recovering from injuries and operations due to my experience in rehab, and men and women in general who are after a healthier lifestyle.
I have had 3 children all via caesarean section between 2011-2013 and have been able to regain my fitness and strength levels to be able to compete in various fitness events and ran two half marathons in 2015, one in 2018 and another in 2019. All while cooking every meal from scratch and working our way through a multitude of serious illnesses that my kids have endured over the years – not to mention also writing my first recipe book.
I’m a very down to Earth woman – I’m certainly no superwoman. I’m not judgemental at all. I believe everyone is on their own path and we all have different zones of genius. Comparison is the thief of all joy!
Fitness for me has greatly helped my mental health to be able to keep up with the demands of motherhood and good nutrition has been extremely important to us as a medicine, keep energy and immune systems optimal and maintain overall health as much as possible.
Essential oils and supplements have also played an integral part in creating a higher level of health and wellness, providing us with natural solutions to strengthen immune systems and support our bodies as we’ve healed.
Natural solutions and practicing self care have been my saviour over the years, seeing me through to the other side of PND, PTSD and occupational burnout. I have experienced first hand what happens when we don’t practice self care, so I love to create goals around this area in particular.
I have recently finished my qualification certificate to become a Functional Medicine Health Coach with the Functional Medicine Coaching Academy in the US. They are the only program offered in collaboration with The Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM).
What is Functional Medicine Health Coaching?
Functional Medicine is a model of care that addresses the underlying causes of disease and engages both patient and practitioner in a therapeutic partnership. It represents an evolution in the practice of medicine and effectively addresses the healthcare needs of the 21st century. By shifting the traditional disease-centered focus of medical practice to a more patient-centered approach, Functional Medicine considers the whole person, not just an isolated set of symptoms.
In our sessions together, we will go through your current lifestyle, talk about your health goals and together, come up with a plan to help you reach them. I also have lots of meal plans, recipes, exercise plans, breathing techniques and natural therapy solutions that we can use to help you along your wellness journey.
I use dōTERRA Essential Oils and supplements, fitness & movement, wholefoods nutrition and Functional Medicine health coaching in balance to assist my clients in achieving their goals in a well-rounded way.
